About Cris

Cris is a Australian based actress, performer, puppeteer, drama teacher, theatre producer, theatre director and playwright with duel Brazilian and Italian citizenship. She began her acting training in 2008 in Brazil, where she graduated from her first professional acting training at TEPA in (Teatro Escola de Porto Alegre) in 2011. In Brazil, she worked extensively across varied mediums including countless theatre plays such as Macbeth by William Shakespeare, The Balcony by Jean Genet, Who is afraid of Virginia Woolf by Edward Albee and many others. She has acted in important theatre festivals in plays such as The Plagiarists by Diones Camargo and Punch the Opera by Christian Benvenutti, in TV series like Animal by TV Globo directed by Jaime Monjardim and in the feature film Back to 97 directed by Zeca Brito as well as featured in corporate videos, web series, street performances, short films, and several commercials.

Cris moved to Australia in 2016, where she trained at NIDA’s Advanced Actors Studio in 2017 and at The Hub Studio in 2018. Since then, she has worked extensively in theatre and performed on several occasions at Short + Sweet Festival, where she also had her debut as a playwright and theatre director and won prizes for both roles. In 2019 she co-founded SFAA (Sydney Foreign Actors Association) and co-produced and acted in Hamlet by William Shakespeare with a vast multiculturally diverse cast of actors coming from 15 different countries. Cris has also founded her own puppet show company and has performed with it since 2017.

She also co-adapted, co-directed, co-produced and acted in Waiting for Govid, an adaptation of Samuel Beckett’s Waiting for Godot in COVID-19 times, successfully performed in Sydney in November 2020 and on the Central Coast on December 2020
